FDNY Creates Energy Storage System Training Video Based on FSRI's Near Miss Research
Motivated by FSRI’s Near Miss research, the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) partnered with Con Edison to create this training video highlighting the importance of preplanning for emergency responses to facilities containing energy storage systems (ESS). In this video, FSRI Advisory Board Member and FDNY Deputy Chief George Healy partners with Con Edison's Tony Natale to walk through a facility visit and how to develop relationships with ESS teams to create a response plan together.
FSRI has been partnering with the FDNY for over a decade to bring fire science to the streets and we are excited to see them continue putting the research into practice. Thanks to the FDNY for allowing us to share this video on our channels, providing valuable training to the fire service.
