Nick Dow joined UL's Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) in September 2018 as a Research Engineer. He earned his Master of Science at Penn State and his bachelor's degree at Rowan University, both in mechanical engineering. His graduate studies focused on evaluating the effect of virtual/augmented reality environments on a driver’s perception of risk. Prior to joining FSRI, Nick’s experience in fire research included working in the Fire Research Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as part of their Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program in 2015.
