Applications Open for FSRI's Training Advisory Committee
Collaboration with the fire service is the foundation of our work at UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). Through that partnership we strive to provide actionable insights from our research that can be applied on the fireground and in day-to-day operations. We deliver many of these insights through our Fire Safety Academy (FSA). This dynamic learning management platform has become nationally recognized as a source of free science-based training for the fire service. To guide the ongoing development of content and the way in which it is shared in the Fire Safety Academy, the FSRI is establishing an advisory committee of highly motivated fire service instructors and training officers.
Participants in the new Training Advisory Committee (TAC) will collaborate with FSRI’s Instructional Design experts to share professional experience, knowledge and insights to inform the trajectory of our training offerings and reach new users.
Expectations
The inaugural TAC group will convene in person for a two-day meeting in February 2023 at FSRI headquarters in Maryland. Quarterly virtual meetings will follow for the duration of the required two-year term.
FSRI will cover all travel expenses associated with this trip. We are not able to cover salary expenses for missed time as a result of attending the meetings. Permission to participate from your fire department’s management is not required but is highly encouraged.
Please complete the application and select ‘Submit’ by November 28, 2022, to be considered for the TAC. Selected participants will be notified via email on December 12, 2022.
