10 Considerations Related to Cardiovascular and Chemical Exposure Risks

FSRI collaborated with the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) and the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) to produce a FIREHOUSE supplement 10 Considerations Related to Cardiovascular and Chemical Exposure Risks. The 10 key considerations based on the partners’ findings are broken into three categories: Tactical Considerations Related to Occupant Exposure, Exposure Considerations for Outside and Overhaul Operations, and Cleaning and Decontamination Considerations after the Fire. Additionally, the supplement highlights fire service leaders describing common hurdles in the pursuit of behavioral changes related to these topics.
