Beth Weckman is a Professor and head of the Fire Research Group and Fire Safety program in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, ON, Canada. She earned her doctorate in mechanical engineering with a specialization in combustion from the University of Waterloo. Throughout her career, Dr. Weckman has contributed to invited seminars, reports, presentations and peer-reviewed, scientific articles on fire safety education, fire behavior, compartment fire dynamics and fire performance of materials. She serves on E05 and ISO TC92 Fire Standards Committees, NFPA Research and IAAI Boards, fire service college program advisory committees, International Association for Fire Safety Science executive and chairs the SFPE Higher Education and Academic Leadership Committee.
